FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  Indaba is back! We want you, our alumni to come as you are, not presentation ready. We want to reconnect and revive the magic you once experienced. 

Here are a few questions and answers to get you started.

Will ALA provide accommodation and travel?  

The simple answer is no. Alumni have to cover their own travel and accommodation. However, ALA will provide some funding to our younger alumni, specifically those pursuing gap years or their undergraduate degrees. This will be disbursed on a first-come-first-served basis to those with demonstrated need.  Eligible alumni can apply here.

Why are we paying to attend this Indaba?

Your ticket secures your spot at the Indaba. You will get back the value of your money in the form of different Indaba swags. We also have a special, limited edition swag for the first 50 to RSVP, so hurry now. 

I cannot attend in person. Can I host or join a satellite city Indaba?  

That is AMAZING! We appreciate your willingness to make this Indaba as inclusive as possible! Please complete the  registration form and select the Satellite City option.

I am an artist. How can I perform or present my art?  

Hooray - but feel no pressure! Tell us more about your work and we will see how to get you involved! Please complete this form to sign up.

How do I get support for my visa application?  

If you need a visa, indicate that when you RSVP and we will send you an event itinerary to support your application. You can find out about your visa category and file an application here.

How do I find out about other alumni attending?  

When you RSVP, the registration form will allow you to select an option to be connected with other alumni who are attending, and want to collaborate on the logistics.
